I've never quite understood this accusation. Take it from a real, live liberal: If Obama is a socialist, he's a really bad one. His health care bill was basically written by the insurance companies, and was pretty much the same as the *Republican* proposal in the '93. I suppose you think Bob Dole and Richard Lugar and Ted Stevens and crew were all socialists?

If you hate both candidates (as I do, though from the left, not from the right), then it would be better to vote for a third party. That's what I'll be doing. Anything to begin to break the two-party duopoly that's become so destructive. Staying home will only make it easier for them.

If there were a few Afghans killed as a result of the documents released by Wikileaks, that would be very unfortunate. Surely, if you care about Afghan civilians, you are more concerned about the thousands killed by our own government? From Wikipedia (bit.ly/oyh5S4), the lowest estimate for civilians killed directly by U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan from 2001-2011 is 6,215. That doesn't include enemy combatants, it doesn't include casualties caused indirectly by the war, which, when added together, are likely to be much, much higher. Nor does it include casualties of the Iraq War or any of our bombings in Pakistan or Yemen. Assange may enjoy being famous too, I don't know, but his purpose is to stop such atrocities.
