Folks, we have 4 years to come up with an alternate to the GOP. They refuse to present truly conservative candidates, so let them rot in their fetid proto-liberal corner. Give us a CONSERVATIVE in 4 years. And people, get busy telling your neighbors why true CONSERVATIVE principles work. We have 4 years. Perhaps 2.

In January 2008, at a John McCain rally in Columbia, S.C., I asked a number of local politicos to look back to the brutal 2000 Republican primary in their state, the one between McCain and George W. Bush.
