Why do I think that "uncompromising" is exactly the way principles need to be handled? For the religious, I offer the possibility that "grace" is not the alteration of natural law by god, but the fact that the law works the same every time, regardless of who the recipient is. For my money, prayer has never changed god, but it sure does change us.
Probably not, but even a small understanding is better than the communist bent we seem intent on today.
She was pro-choice just the same way I am. You have infinite choices as a human being, but the only one you do not have is the ability/option to escape the consequences of the choices you make. Getting pregnant in or out of wedlock is absolutely the consequence of a choice you made, and killing another human being does not absolve you of your responsibility.
It's too bad you could see only the staging without understanding the message at all.
Great idea! Problem is too many of our voters don't even know who the VP is, nor understand the most basic elements of economy. Listen to the interviews of people on the street and you'll weep for our nation as I do.
If you pick up a copy of the book at a library and don't want to go through the entire novel, I would recommend reading the chapter "This Is John Galt Speaking." It is the most complete, perceptive, and fundamental explanation of the principles of Objectivism. I also believe this is the only "ism" based entirely on the nature of man and his responsibility to be authentically human in his life on earth. The atheism that seems to turn some off from Rand is only a small part of her philosophy, but her rejection of the control of religion over personal lives is certainly worth thinking about.

It already has, and all he can do is put on that toothy grin and pretend it didn't happen.

Great idea, but I don't think those "progressives" can or want to read anything not included in the Marxist Manifesto.

How come you're offended only when it's your messiah who's exposed for the fraud that he is. What pretense of piety drove the criticism of Mitt Romney when he was 15 years old, pulling a schoolboy prank probably like some you've pulled in your day?
