Voter Rights Are Not Free

The ONLY reason progressive socialists oppose voter I.D. laws is because it will cost them upwards of 35% of their voter base. That percentage comes from the deceased, illegal, and fictitious voter. This percentage is enough to cost progressive socialists elections for eons to come and they know it. My state checks my I.D. when I show up at the polls to vote and I don't see anyone being denied their civic responsibility to vote.

The same at my polling place. Everyone should have to present valid voter ID.

That's because you have an ID. What about the crowd that doesn't smoke, buy alcohol, get on airplanes, buy lottery tickets, drive, go to government offices, receive government support... et al?
Shouldn't they have a right to vote?

I'm sure a way could be found to get a photo ID for those few. Do you really think that someone who can't be bothered to get a photo ID would be an informed voter?

The laws include a way, funded by that State, in most cases.
It is fun to see the devious frustrated by the intelligent.
A little 'gotcha' by the good guys, for a change.

But I think Dan is kidding.

Informed or no,that does not matter. What does is that progressives want all to believe that their special groups cannot vote, without someone to hold their hand.Problem for them is,you cannot get by without an ID,and should you find yourself unable to afford even a good fake, your state's DMV will issue you ID for a couple of bucks, and not require any ID to do so.If people want to exercise their right to franchise,it is not that hard. Most of your crowd, dan,is probably dead, and you'll need to take care of their ballots.

Ah, but therein lies the answer. Informed voter? Who wants those? Not a whole lot of politicians, that's for sure. Much easier to inform your voter who they need to vote for and then wash your hands of them until you need their vote again.

What about health care? Whenever I go to the doctor or get tests I have to show an ID. According to the government everybody at some point in time will need health care.

Engraved large on one of the walls of the Korean War Veterans Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, DC are the words “Freedom is not free.”

It is sad that so many are unable or unwilling to appreciate the truth of this simple phrase or are ready to heed those who have or seek power who distort it.

I cannot think of anything hurting us more today than false and confused notions about the nature of the ideal of freedom.

Recently Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) appeared on Chris Matthews’ Hardball show and in discussion about voter ID laws he...
