And what rights are they (gays) being denied? They have exactly the same rights that every hetro has. They can marry a person of a different gender just like everyone else. What they really want is "EXTRA" rights and being a "protected" class of people more than anyone else. Hate crimes, for example, are discriminatory in the least. It is already against the law the assault anyone, whether gay or straight. Tack on an extra 10 years for assaulting a gay? Really? It's discrimination against everyone else who is straight! Another point....If they are after same rights that hetro marriages have, then why not settle for civil unions, which do provide the exact same benefits? Why do they "need" for the State to recognize their unions?...
