but they didn't because they knew the results would be disastrous to the economy. Still holds true. Never has been a revenue problem when you spend within your means.

FY 2007 individual filers 144M..total revenue from ind filers..1.175T..median income $50,233..so by your rant 77M americans brought in 1.175T or had income tax rates of 31%..no EIC. Also, nobody in the media picked up at tax time when they always run stories on how much the Pres and VP pay in Fed income taxes is really 0!! Think a little bit before you post such idiocy. Also, instead of proposing a tax on income I dare you to suggest a 1 time 15% tax on accumulated wealth and watch how far away your limousine liberal friends run from it. Nothing stopping a 1 of them from paying as much more as they would like to yet they never, ever do. Obama had full control for 2 yrs to raise taxes (if any problems he coulda used reconciliation again
The only way the Mormon faith can get some better press would be to denounce Israel and America, oppress women and those of other faiths, prop up dicatorships and inhibit freedom, elevate there cause by focusing their attacks on unarmed civilians in shopping malls and ice cream parlors, brainwash the most impoverished in their communities to strap on bombs to attack people while the leaders are billionaires yet claim a correlation to poverty. At that point, Dowd et al would believe in tax subsidies for LDS centers in areas where an attack by said LDS group had occured and we would have school children reciting their holy books in the public schools as an exercise in diversity. Barring all that, not much more the Mormons can do.
I still say the best question would be, "Given your internal studies, what percentage decline in rapes and murders do you anticipate after passage of this billjQuery1520173916898900643_1319119411432 And would the decline double if we increased the amount from $450B to $900B?"
Yes..astute point. That is a talking point. However, one that is critically challenged by the media. It's a talking point that has historically been correct. Same reason Obama extended the tax cuts and never raised the rates when he had unlimited congressional power. He knew what that result would be. He's not a fool. In fact, with regards to spending... Is there any difference between he and Bush other than Obama spent more. I wasn't a fan of Bush's spending policies either which is why I can't understand why we have continued them or doubled. We now have 2 presidents who have yet to veto spending bills. Any chance we could try that before we raise taxes?
1.) since when were firefighters, etc. nationalized. 2.) Democrat senate blocked the bill. 3.) Didn't know the current crop of Libs hang onto the words of Eisenhower but my point is they NEVER lead lives which they profess (check Al Gore's electric bill sometime). 4.) Revenues are not the issue..never have been. 5.) If $900 billion didn't work than why would I believe $450 will 6.) They had 2 yrs of unfettered control to raise taxes and didn't because they knew it would crush the economy. Again, move the metric from income to wealth and see how much bandwagon support they give. Wealthy liberals are the EXACT same as wealthy televangelists. Live what you preach and perhaps I'd be convinced to do likewise.
Careful..that's a lot of math and numbers. Next thing ya know you'll be making up stuff like there are counties that have been legally exempt from SS and their retirees yielded 50% and above average than standard SS recipients and can be passed down to their children. Or that FDR et al picked the age of 65 cuz it was higher than average life expectancy at it's inception. Keep your math away from me..I have a hackie sack to kick and some hemp jewelry to barter
Tone he used when he said "We made are money..yada yada" had a little mocking to it. The whole use of the word puts me in mind of the old Phil Hartman SNL sketch. "The moon..it mocks me!"
A side note.. Ask them to name a single democrat millionaire who currently pays tax rates that they endorse. (i.e. Leading by example) rather than sheltering all the time. Or why they never propose a 1 time 5-10% tax on WEALTH but rather income. Phony. I wish Republicans could pass a Fair or Flat tax as an either/or choice with the current IRS system and see what the public would pick.. But more importantly see what the Libs would choose. Ya know.. Make it a "pro-choice" issue
