nawlins: According to UN data, China overtook the United States in manufacturing OUTPUT in 2010. The real staggering fact is the RATE at which China has overtaken the US. Between 1980 and 2010, China increased their output by 1345%. The US increased its output during the same period by only 218%. Yes, China was beginning at a very low point, so their increase was easier to achieve, but if the numbers continue this course, and the evidence suggests they will, that does not bode well for the U.S.
The re-election of Barack Obama hasn't done anything to make more jobs available to Americans, and there is no indication that it will. America now has 23 million people who want a full-time job but can't find one.
