As a Bears fan, I would TOTALLY support such redistribution.

'Tis a lot easier to observe that person's "true character" before marriage when one is cohabiting. ;) Food for thought.
Very astute observation - "I think the key factor is not whether you're buddies, but whether you're both people who honor and respect obligations, even when those obligations are inconvenient." I would still argue that there are plenty of deal-breaker scenarios where someone would be justified in choosing divorce over sacrificing their emotional / physical health. Am thinking specifically of situations of abuse / infidelity.

Lol - you noticed the media assault, too? 'Twas pretty ridiculous, considering it's all red herring issues anyway. Now, the idea of native corporation collusion is interesting - I knew all my native friends from the bush were going to vote for Murkowski, but if what you describe is true .... that is a travesty indeed.

You are clearly confused when you ascribe such behavior to Republicans, since you are clearly describing the symptoms of Obamamania, SPDS (Sarah Palin Derangement Syndrome), and BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome).

You are correct as to the "what" but off as to the "why." Democrats quickly saw that their guy wasn't going to win, and since "OMG JO MILLR IS TEA-BAGGIN CRAZY" (read: no capability to rationally evaluate a candidate) they wrote in Murkowski just to make sure Joe Miller wouldn't win. The Republicans who voted for her did so for the reasons Williams pointed out - the federal money is just so awesome and has to keep coming. Never mind the fact that we are hugely vulnerable when the money dries up and it is in our best interest to figure out how to get along without it.

Never claimed anything of the sort. My comments were restricted to this particular situation.

Except that the bottom line is voter intent. In any / all of those questioned ballots, it was absolutely, 100% clear who they intended to vote for. I don't like it any more than you do, but Murkowski won, fair and square.
