The only vehicle that gets 55 miles per gallon, that is not also battery operated, has less than 4 wheels, and can only carry two people. That is not family friendly. In addition, they have not considered the energy cost of electricity production for the vehicles that are battery operated. This kind of wishful thinking is getting close to fantasy land, because you cannot get more work out of a vehicle than the amount of energy you put into it times its energy efficiency. Our energy crisis is all manufactured by governmental policies designed to make the United States the biggest 3rd world country on Earth. Those policies need be replaced by policies making the United States the biggest producer of energy from feasible sources available.
