I find it so funny that people are reading new things into the Bible all the time. The story of Sodom was around for several generations before even the birth of Jesus yet even through the first century Jewish teachers did not teach that the sin of Sodom was homosexuality. It wasn't until the re-transcription of the bible in the early 20th century that the word homosexual appeared in the Christian Bible.
In case you haven’t heard, some of the stars of the popular TV show “Sister Wives” are suing the state of Utah, arguing that its laws against bigamy are unconstitutional. And just last week, a reporter asked White House press secretary Jay Carney, “How does the president stand on polygamy?”
Polygamy? Are you kidding?
Not surprisingly, Carney ignored the question, but it is a question he won’t be able to ignore for long. In an extensive,
"I dunno. That's a tough one... Know when to hold 'em? Know when to fold 'em?"
I'd like us all at least to admit that it's a little odd to read this story and think that 1) the MAIN sin of Sodom is homosexuality and that 2) this is obvious.

You don't read well do you? The events in Sodom were written about in Genesis. Genesis was written around the 6th to 5th century BC -- several centuries before the birth of Jesus. It wasn't until several centuries AFTER Jesus that the story was changed to being that the primary sin of Sodom was Homosexuality. 16th, 17th and 18th century commentaries are over TWENTY CENTURIES AFTER THE EVENTS! Jewish teachers were not teaching that Sodom's sin was homosexuality through the first several centuries after Jesus died. Wouldn't they have more of a direct knowledge of the events?
