On further reflection, I have more to say. I work at home, and often get up at 3AM to listen to Bill Bennett while working. When the supposedly conservative Wall Street Journal Report comes on with its left wing drivel, I turn it off. But I digress. I have noticed that Salem chooses to run PSAs in the middle of the night, when Bill Bennett is on. Fair enough. But what peeves me is that all the PSAs are from the leftist POV. Where, may I ask, are conservative PSAs? Where are the PSAs that promote traditional marriage? That promote home schooling? That promote adoption over abortion? You get the idea. Repubs are missing the boat in this arena: free advertising!

I have given some thought to the PSAs from another perspective. They are basically government subsidies to radio stations, the government buying up the time that they are not able to sell to actual advertizers, so they don't have dead air and don't lose money. So these right wing firebrands are all being subsidized by the government, isn't that ironic? They have no problem taking the pork when it's coming their way, as always.

Are you under the mistaken impression that someone--anyone---"pays" the station for running PSAs? The stations run them so they can keep their license---they run them for free. They run them at 3 AM because they won't sell those commercial slots for much if anything anyway, which is why Bill Bennett is on then---he has no audience.

The welcoming remarks of an unidentified member of the senior GOP House leadership to the assembled Republican conference gathering for a "retreat" in Williamsburg have leaked:

Welcome to Williamsburg, Members of the House Republican Conference. We hope you enjoy your retreat.

Perhaps we should begin with that age old tradition: Look to your left. Now look to your right. Either you or one of those two people won’t be here in two years. Perhaps two of the three will be gone. If you are sitting in the wrong row, all three of you could be looking for work with the Potato...
