News flash, a s s h o l e: 2011 US violent crime rate = 361 per 100,000 people, most of which occur in metro areas over 250,000. According to FBI website crime stats, violent crime in the US had DROPPED nearly 50% over the last 20 years. 2011 UK violent crime rate = 1350 per 100,000 people. According to the Home Office website crime stats, violent crime has increased 40% since the British gun ban. More guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens, less crime. It is really that easy.
