The use of the gun is the last resort in a layer of security. Privacy is the first layer and that has been removed. Contrary to your idiotic belief, gun owners don't want to shoot anyone. As much as they hate you if they may, they have no desire to kill you. That is what they are ticked off about. Pride has nothing to do with it. The flip side is that now, homes not on that list may be the ones targetted by criminals. Everyone should be irrate about this.
In a shocking display of intimidation tactics, a New York newspaper took the time to gather every publicly-available address of every gun owner in the lower Hudson valley region and publish them publicly on its website. The Journal News published gun owners' home addresses in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties.

Understandably, people were outraged:
