As is often the case, the media rush to put the story on the air trumps any effort to get the facts straight. It took hours to determine those facts, but the media was not about to let a lack of facts interfere with their mantra of "If it bleeds, it leads". The police recoverred the rifle from the trunk of the car, where the shooter left it.

Juno, they'd have no chance of making a run at our guns if the pistols WERE the weapon(s?) used. Not a prayer!

Just like the Zimmerman shooting and the rush to a public lynching without any facts just edited film and and audio and a bunch of hysterical Liberal Zealots looking for retribution in the way of Blood -the very same way they were persecuted over the years and yet they wanted to do the same to another fellow human being -amazing what can happen when you get a crowd charged up over false and yes they are false until proven factual in a court of law -not by Al Sharpton the street Hustler or anyone else playing judge and jury -that is not a court of law!

Either it wasn't found in the trunk, or they are lying now to prop us efforts to get such rifles banned. Which makes me wonder what else they are lying about.
It's too hard to try and make sense of a senseless event. Adam Lanza's merciless slaughter in Connecticut has forced everyone with a microphone to insist we have a "national conversation" about why this happens.

But this urgent need to talk is not an excuse for a reckless discussion. Sadly, that is where we're headed, with pundits hysterical, naive or both.

Predictably most in the media went straight to the Left's Alpha and Omega: blaming excessive "access" to guns. It was also an excuse to open fire on the National Rifle Association. For example, author Joyce Carol Oates...
