The actual data is out there, it's just not reported in the MSM so you have to dig through dozens of tables to find it. That's too much like work for too many of us. Fortunately, we're getting the workforce participation rate, which is a much better indicator of the employment situation than the unemploymqnt number. Another number that's now being cooked is inflation. During Barry's term the data used to compute the CPI has changed. It no longer includes food and energy, which together account for 20 - 30% of a typical family expenses every month. Without food and energy, the official inflation rate has been under 3%, but when they are factored in, inflation jumps to about 9% and climbing.

The way housing is calculated is insane. It's based on current market prices which is OK, but the assumption that people buy a house every month which is unrealistic.

This week’s jobless claims came in higher than expected tending to confirm that the recovery is: 1) still very slow; and 2) jobless, despite attempts by the Obamunist-controlled press to paint a different picture.
