The Message Romney Missed

Barry's reelection campaign apparatus started working 21 Jan 2009. The effort was concentrated on a handful of swing states with an all out registration drive in Barry friendly precincts. They knew in which areas they could capture 95+% of the vote and worked flat out for all four years to bolster the turnout in those areas. Once they identified Mitt as the presumptive nominee, they took advantage of election laws to launch a vicious smear campaign against him, knowing that he could not respond until getting the official nomination. Add to that the fractious nature of the Repub primaries and it was just too much to overcome.

Look at what's going on now? Marco Rubio - raised a ton of money in Iowa recently - is being trashed by the Republicans. There needs to be an internal overthrow.

Rove & the Bushes picked Romney. Never again! Time to overthrow the leadership that gave us 2 losses in a row.

So? Now we must start the 2016 campaign; identify the probable nominees, collect and study their faults, and prepare for battle. Use 2014 as a practice skirmish, and fight to win.

And make peace among the Tea Parties, and the Republican Party. We must hang together, or we shall surely be hanged separately.

The post mortems on the presidential campaign continue to pour in, the ones on the botched Romney effort the more interesting (and more depressing for those of us who supported him). President Obama was clearly vulnerable, and Mitt Romney clearly positioned to defeat him.

So what went wrong? Let me add my analysis. Three words: Message. Messenger. Messaging.

The messenger was flawed, unwilling to take risks, unprepared for the Obama political wrecking machine, left dazed and confused Election Night.

If inept messaging could be deemed a felony, this campaign was a crime against humanity. I've never seen...
