Several years ago, the electric company in the town where I lived, gave a huge donation to a charity, which in effect raised our rates a small amount, and all their customers were understandably upset. The company response was that it enabled everyone to give a few pennies to a worthwhile cause. My problem was that I had already given a large monetary gift to that charity and was offended that they thought a few pennies was a good donation....still mad about it....

On Wednesday's NBC Today show, a Columbian woman that was deported and her children were interviewed. While this is a sad situation that the children were left here, she didn't bring out that it was the mother's fault that the children are here and she is gone. The mother was here illegally and she made a very bad decision to come here to have children, anchor babies, hoping it would be a way for her to stay.

Our actions have consequences and the mother who has been here illegally all these years can't be so naive that she didn't know she would be deported if found. The mother is in the wrong for breaking the law and also by teaching her children that it's ok to break the law. While she no doubt loves her children, she used...

OMG, Mr. Ryan has said some very profound and knowledgeable things, but his comments about wanting a VAT are atrocious! Please call him, write him, e-mail him, or fax him and tell him NO VAT! We can't afford a VAT. He must not know how VAT works or he wouldn't go anywhere near one. A VAT makes everything so expensive, no one can afford them. Please, NO VAT!!
