A theory in science is what lay people call facts. Evolution has been confirmed in every branch of science through measurable experiments (such as DNA analysis) and historical data (fossils). The same applies to the Big Bang Theory, which is mostly rooted in physics. Man-Made global warming is not a theory, although it has been thoroughly peer-reviewed by hundreds of agencies. The disagreement with global warming is mostly within the realm of politics and the public. There is little disagreement in the scientific community.

"One measure of mental ability is the ability to discern reality, and to mature & learn." No organized group is farther removed from reality than the religious right. They are mentally crippled.

I do not judge intentions, I judge results. I do not care why they did these things. . . politics is politics. Nearly all elected officials do things for the purpose of votes; it's their careers on the line. The fact is that these things occured under Democrat regimes. Thus, my argument is valid.

True, Wilson was by no means perfect. In fact, I have yet to study a president who has made entirely sound decisions. I am simply addressing the original post where avocado attempts to completely erase ANY contributions made by liberals. That, I believe, is intellectually dishonest and divisive. That being said, one cannot understate the contributions of conservatives in ALL of those movements. BTW, I wouldn't call JFK a right-winger. Even by today's standards he would classify as a big spender (not Obama big, but big).

It seems that you have ignored my rebuttal. Pick and choosing facts?

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed while a Dem was President. By the way, Townhall writer Walter Williams (and Ron Paul) is one of many conservatives who still says the bill was unnecessary. The majority of NASA funding occured in the 1960s: the golden era for NASA. Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Fair Labor Standards Act 1938, which limited child labor. Woodrow Wilson made three appeals to change women's suffrage laws. The major supporters of womens' right to vote were the dems leading into the 1920s.

Women's suffrage? The Civil Rights Act? Expansion of NASA? The FDA? Child Labor Laws? All of these are within the 20th century.
There is NO evidence to assert that it is a chosen lifestyle, other than conjecture and opinion.
Exactly, nawlins. It's funny that a few weeks ago Walter Williams (a regular townhall journalist/economist) went ranting on about how it's wrong that restrictions were made on where people could smoke cigarettes. According to him, it infringes on personal liberties (disregard secondhand smoke). But when it comes to sexual preferences, the societal harm argument comes back?

The same can be said about conservatives. Politics is a mess, no matter what party you look at.
