The CT school shooting was a tragedy, no doubt. But the shooter did it to get attention he wasn’t getting from his rich mother, who neglected his mental state for so long. She should have had him checked long ago and documented at the least.
More importantly, as a responsible gun-owner, Mom should have locked all her guns away in a fire-proof vault, separated from the ammunition per the LAW, to keep them away from anyone under 21 from gaining access.
Like immigration, we do not need more gun laws or bans. We need gun-owners especially those with children, to follow the laws we already have. This was clearly mom’s fault and she and her community paid dearly for her negligence on both counts.
