The Sen. Al Franken Blue Ball

A couple of points:

1. The SCOTUS stopped the liberal Supreme Court of Florida from changing the rules in a federal election. Every ruling from Florida went for Gore and they were the ones who tried to fix the election for their guy.

2. The SCOTUS had 2 rulings, one of which was decided 7-2 and the other one 5-4. It is only possible to be ideological if 7 of the justices were conservative.

3. Al Franken's show on Air America was a bomb. Yes, it was the best on that weak network. But saying that he was competitive with the conservative talk shows is like saying I am competitive with Tiger Woods because my handicap is 4. It's not even close.

4. The polling being done at the time when Senator Wellstone...

We're sorry. At least we are now on par with California, Massachusetts, Oregon, New Jersey, and New York with the quality of their representatives in Washington.

All Franken as a senator is truly an embarrassment to anyone with a functioning brain.

Duke Professors Condemn Gay Racism

I respectfully disagree with your assessment of the column. I believe that Adams was slamming the hypocrites at Duke. The 88 at Duke prejudged the lacrosse players and had them convicted even before they went to trial.

What Adams is pointing out is that they have not uttered a peep about this case because the perpetrator is gay. If the man accused would be a straight white man, then all heck would have broken out.

Where is the outrage for the 88 in this case?

Republicans: Stand Your Ground

Yes, he will be seated. I'm sorry for our state.

Minnesotans like to think of themselves as progressives in the best sense of the word. In reality, they are "feelers" not "thinkers". There is a massive "nanny-state" mentality and a lot of condescending "I know better than you" type of false superiority.

Minnesota used to be known for the quality of the schools, but with the democrats basically running the show with some RINO help, they have corrupted the educational system. The teacher's unions hold the the educational system by the short hairs.

I am truly embarrassed that there are more than one million Minnesotans who are so stupid that they actually thought that Franken should be a Senator and voted for him....

You say, "Liberalism, Logic's retarded cousin".

Sorry, you are wrong. They are not related nor are they even part of the same species.

I apologize for being the bearer of bad news.

Equality on Trial

At the U of O in 89/90 the term P.C. was already in full swing. The man leading the on-campus gay rights group used it in discussing why the Army and other services should not be able to recruit on campus like various companies because they were not P.C.

P.C. is a term the left uses to stop discussion with those people who don't agree with their political objectives and therefore are not P.C. If your opinions are NOT correct, then you must be wrong, according to the left. Simply saying someone else' opinion is wrong has the distinct odor of censorship. i.e. "I am correct and you are not. Therefore, you don't need to be listened to because you are wrong."

Sorry, but I don't believe you are "correct" on this issue.
Thanks for the reply. I'm definitely no better as a person than the liberals who post here and I find it very curious that they think we will be swayed by arguments that only throw insults.

While I may laugh at their inanity, inside I really feel sorry for them if that is the best they can do.

Thank you for your cogent post. It really added a lot to the discussion. (Just like this one.)
As conservatives, we chastise those on the left for ad hominem attacks? Yes, I know, it is their preferred method of attack when they know they can't post something substantive or win the argument, but where does that leave us?

On the other side, where I usually stand is to fight fire with fire. I won't start an argument that way, but I will definitely fire back if the opponent is worthy. Otherwise, I will just laugh at them.

IMO, both Michelle Obama and Judge Sotomayor are ladies I do not find attractive, but does it do our side any good to ridicule an appearance that doesn't appeal to us?

Where should conservatives draw the line?

Kind Regards as always
