I think you did not understand Ben's point. Obama says the government (us, and politicians), are constrained by the constitution. So what if they weren't, what would Obama and the left/progressives do about the gun issue, abortion, gay marriage etcetera? That is the point. He just does not like America the way it is, and would like to not be constrained to making his vision law. It is a lot to infer but, the left does it constantly.
