Thanx...but? You miss the point, friend. That 'God helps those' thing is not biblical...ie, God didn't say that. In fact, from beginning to end, the bible is about our dependence on God, and why relationship with Him is necessary to true fulfillment as a human being. We can be thankful, as Chuck is writing about, because believers know our God is over all that happens, and turns 'all things for good to those who are called according to his purpose'. Do you know this God? Seek him.

This holiday season, while we enjoy delicious food and visiting family and friends, let's take a moment to give thanks for our many blessings.

It's easy to get lost in all the bad news today -- whether it be unfavorable election results, financial troubles, a struggling economy, an overreaching federal government, crisis in the Middle East or personal struggles. Our growing list of problems often seems overwhelming and endless.
