Republicans say this about segregation, "the Democrats passed the Jim Crow laws." Yes, and then the Republican party started implementing its "Southern Strategy" starting in the 1970's. Those looking for a party to meet their racist needs swiched from Democrat to Republicans, 1990 - Lauch Faircloth, to run for the U.S. Senate in 1992 1991 - Buddy Roemer, Governor of Louisiana 1994 - Richard Shelby, while U.S. Senator from AL 1995 - Billy Tauzin, while U.S. Representative from LA 1996 - Norm Coleman, while mayor, MN 1998 - George Wallace, Jr., before running for Alabama Public Service Commissioner 1998 - Sonny Perdue, while a GA State Senator
Thanks so much for all your Republican party talking points. Just why should my taxpayer's dollars subsidize sugar consumption, high fructose corn syrup consumption, partially hydrogenated soybean oil consumption and ethanol mandates? Will we all go naked if cotton is not subsidized? This is the Republican party. BIG government when it suits me, small government for you!
Here's my position on reducing the debt. The USA, essentially, had a balanced the last few years of 'Bubba's' presidency. The Republicans then went on a big spending spree. They cut nothing, but had their precious Bush tax cut. A long term nation building project in Afghanistan. Not paid for, but should have. A long term social engineering project in Iraq. Not paid for, but should had an additional war time gas tax until all troops are home. Another socialist entitlement that when passed should have bumped up the payroll tax to pay for it. The Republican party needs to pay for their BIG goob-mint.
