Kerry: How do the crimes of others excuse one’s own behavior?

Morgan: Sure, you’re right. I agree completely. What I don’t understand is why you think FOX is any different.

I suppose there will always be folks who enjoy seeing the mighty fall, but I think the Murdoch will come out just fine. He is a great business man who knows how to sell to both sides of the fence. And that is something most folks forget. The news is sold to us and like any other product; it needs to be flavored and packaged to increase sales. And of course, Murdoch uses both hands and gives us both The Simpsons and the News.
Latter: What on Earth are you talking about? Who is rewriting Scripture and in what way? None of your comment even remotely applies to what I’ve written. Perhaps you should take time and describe exactly what it is you are disagreeing with or trying to say.
Ken: Not necessarily. The Golden Rule appeals to many atheists on a secular level. But more important, is it fear of divine punishment that keeps you from being bad or is it an ingrain desire to be good based on your love for God?

Rich: No, once again you are falling for limited imagery. Making fun of the “rubes” was common. What do you think that tem means and when do you think it was coined. And I have seen plenty of parents discipline their children. The phenomenon you are experiencing is one of population concentrations. As population concentrates, it offers us a wider view of society and as with many other things, the bad outshines the good. Bad also exists in areas of low concentration, but there it has the illusion of being infrequent. You pick any time period in US or Western Civilization history and you will find all the same problems that are decried today in the areas of higher population concentration.
Latter: Why? I haven’t said anything to offend God. There is nothing poisonous in questioning Shapiro. He is not God. My point is that he is not practicing what he preaches. Otherwise, go ahead and question my “dedication” all you like. I am a Catholic and we believe Jews do go to heaven. It is many of the Protestant denominations that insist “Ye must be saved” is to be taken literally. Perhaps when you are done “questioning”, you could explain exactly what you disagree with in my post.

MrL; When I was a boy just over 50 years ago, I went with my family to the beach. On the way down we stopped a small farming community in Sussex County where a market sold all kinds of fruit and vegetables. The locals there were filthy and stunk. I squirmed about that and was quickly reprimanded by my father. Later in the car, my mother explained how farmers work in very dirty conditions and that many of the poorer ones had only a single spigot in their house for water if they even had that; and that taking a bath often meant a washtub in the yard or kitchen depending on the weather. In short, the usual standard for these people was dirt covered and odorous. But I believe that they were mostly hard working, honest folk.

T: And some people say that for a woman to go around with her head uncovered is a terrible thing. In both cases, it is a matter of opinion that varies with regional norms. Tattoos have come and gone in style and will do so again I’m sure; but in all cases, they are only skin deep.
