Ann, Why do you care whether anyone believes in a god or not? What bearing does it have on anything you care about? Here's a list of what I think you care about deeply. Please tell me what any of these has to do with the existence of, or the belief in, a god: * our government should be bound by the Constitution * our government should primarily protect and promote freedom * our government should not be in the business of redistributing wealth * our government should be quite limited in scope * abortions should be prevented
Chuck and Brian,

I wrote this:

"The people who sought to have the cross removed from the seal....probably just want to rid our government of every last connection to religion."

And you, Chuck, responded with "So you really think their interest was historical accuracy, huh? That's funny."

As you can see, Chuck and Brian, I didn't say anything remotely like what you said I said. You can see that, right?

Or is this just some game that people play in the comments section of Townhall and I just don't know it because I'm new here?

The game: Someone leaves a comment like "I think the government should lower taxes" and someone replies to that comment with "So you really think that the government...
Will someone read my reply (#119) and Chuck's reply to my reply (#123) and defend me---even if after reading what I wrote you think I'm the most evil and ignorant person on earth? I'm not asking anyone to agree with me. I just want to know whether you think Chuck's reply is fair given what I wrote? I could defend myself, but it would carry more weight coming from a total stranger. Thanks.
Mr Prager,

I agree with you that those on the far Left seem to have no qualms about distorting facts. However, in the case of the changes to the Los Angeles County seal, I don't think there is any distortion. If anything, the image of the Mission San Gabriel, which replaced the cross on the seal, is more historically representative.

The people who sought to have the cross removed from the seal are probably well intentioned. They probably just want to rid our government of every last connection to religion. On the whole, that seems like a worthy cause to me.
