Way back when I started school, there was a fast class, a medium class, and a slow class. I started medium, and after a year where I missed 1/3 of the school days due to raging tonsillitis, I moved to the fast class. See, performance meant more than attendance. Now, since that has gone by the way, I fear that your next book should be titled The Slow Class, because the slow class is now getting the government it deserves.

I think the reason that the Gulf is the least offensive alternative for drilling is that not many environmentalists vacate on the Redneck Riviera. After all, the Mississippi dumps into the Gulf, and there is a history of industry, commercial fishing, and the like. However, this event offers the great opportunity in their minds for a game changer. Maybe this could be the disaster to end all drilling. Never mind that this is delusional.

Part of the ongoing delusion that one great disaster would put an end to all oil usage has crippled the planning to handle a disaster such at this. Environmentalists have not pushed government to have any capability to successfully contain damage from such a disaster as we see now. The focus...
