"A man who is laden with the guilt of human blood shall be a fugitive until death; let no one support him." Proverbs 28:17 We thumb our nose at God and kill the innocent while murderers like Obama strut about like proud peacocks at their effortless accomplishments, requiring only the skill at playing the siren's flute as the ships pass by and crash on the reefs.
Easy enough to separate Church and State. That is no problem, but the founders did not intend to separate the principle of morality - specifically Judeo-Christian, not Mohammedan, Buddhist, Jainistic, pantheistic, ad infinitum. On the other hand, if made is just a glob of impersonal matter with no reference point for morality, he must construct his own. This was attempted by Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Chairman Mao and others. Morality is not just "out there." I am afraid that you use of the modals "should/ought to/must/ etc..." are hijacked from another world view that assumes moral absolutes because of a Moral Lawgiver who has revealed Himself in the natural realm, the conscience and...
