Not to take away anything from Ms. Pavlich's excellent work but it was gun magazine columnist and blogger David Codrea (waronguns.blogspot.com) and blogger Michael Vanderboegh (sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com) who first started cracking the case.
The one thing I know for sure is that the location of the shooting will be moved to New York for an episode of Law and Order next season.
This column was a little disappointing, with the reference in the title to 'let' citizens carry, and the body pushing for an armed police force. The problem is not disarmed police it is disarmed citizens. And the answer is not the government letting them carry guns, it is for the government to stop preventing them from carrying guns and to stop punishing them when they exercise their inherent right to defend themselves and others. I know from previous columns Mr. Giles understands that, it just doesn't show here.

I sent emails to my Senators and my Representative opposing net neutrality. My Democratic Senator, Harkin sent a form reply about how great net neutrality is. My Democratic Representative Loebsack took almost two months to reply. His form letter was less effusive, more full of boilerplate about the benefits of internet access but in the end also supported net neutrality. Harkin didn't surprise me, but Loebsack pretends to be a moderate.

How about this bronze age stupidity? Hydames, you have not equally weighed each side in your advice to us. For you have tried the one which you advise, the other has remained untried by you. You know what it means to be a slave, but you have never yet tried freedom, to know whether it is sweet or not. For if you had tried it, you would have advised us to fight for it, not merely with spears, but also with axes. * Spartans Sperthia and Bulis to Persian satrap Hydarnes

Here is an exchange with a retired Lt. Col. on the probable effects of DADT repeal. I've served, but in the Air Guard, and never led or trained troops, so I tend to defer to a man he has done both in the Infantry. A brief example of the consequences of the repeal of DADT. Haven't you heard? The SEIU is claiming their thugs were the victims, merely defending themselves from a physical attack. After all, who are you going to believe, them or your lying eyes?

How long until one of these thugs ends up dead from something totally unrelated to political activity and they write a 'Horst Wessel' song in his honor?
