I spend some time slumming through arch-liberal media (npr, pbs, etc.), and find that True-Believers there are lemming-like, suicidally committed to offering up their entire income and value upon the altar of Big Gov salvation. On the other side, I don't see the same willingness from Conservatives and Libertarians to give up their access to the public trough. Only when "our people" are willing to vigorously reject the bribes offered (usually insultingly small ones!) will we be free again and have standing to drive government, rather than riding along and bitching from the back seat.
