How many women can carry a 95 pound pack, a box of machinegun ammo and a 81 millimeter mortor round, pluse a rifle or a 26 pound machine gun and step off a landing craft as I had to in Amphibious Warefare School in the Marine Corps and then carry that load 15 miles in less than 4 hours. The militarys whole reason for being is to win wars.We never know when we might have to fight a real military like China, N Korea or Russia. No to mention if they can be put into thease jobs they will have to sign up for selective service and eligible for the draft. This is all a disaster waiting to happen. Even the Marine Corps Comendant isn't exactly on board and for good reason.

A senior Defense Department official said the ban on women in combat should be lifted because the military's goal is "to provide a level, gender-neutral playing field." I'd like to think the goal of the military should be to have the toughest, meanest fighting force possible. But let's look at "gender-neutral playing field."
