The odd thing about soccer is that the better the players get, the more boring the games get. There is a lot of action in youth soccer. By the time you get to college you can see it slowing down as playing not to lose takes over. At the world cup level where all they do is play not to lose it is pure snooze to me.
Curling has way more action than soccer.
If hockey featured only one shot on goal every 1/2 hour or so like soccer does the NHL would have been out of business years ago!

As a 40 year+ professor at a southern research university, I would say colleges with strong engineering programs (Va Tech, NC State, Clemson, Ga Tech) tend to have less politically activist faculties than there artsy counterparts. At schools like these if you major in a real science, engineering you are unlikely to be abused by leftist faculty. Business schools are also generally OK but Econ can be questionable... do you get Walter E. Williams or Paul Krugman as Prof? But in ANY school if you major in Sociology, Education, History, or ANYTHING ending in "Studies", may God give you great strength or have mercy on your soon to be lost soul.

Your comment shows a complete misunderstanding of Constitutional freedom. The basic premise of the founders was the EVERYTHING was inherently LEGAL unless made illegal by state (common) or local law. Read the 10th Amendment. All powers of the Federal Government are (supposed to be) enumerated and limited. The remaining powers are left to the states and the people. So the Federal Government has no business banning Marijuana at all, but the states are free to ban or not ban it. Back when the Constitution was not COMPLETELY ignored as it is now it took a Constitutional Amendment to ban alcoholic beverages at the federal level. There still exist "dry" counties in the USA today, but that is fully consistent with what the founders intended.
In their march on Baghdad these ISIS fellows provide a target of opportunity for air strikes that is unmatched since the first gulf war. Too bad the Preezie of the United Steesies and his sidekick Sgt Hagel are too cowardly to TAKE THE SHOT.
If Obama's "plan" was to turn Iraq over to ISIS and Afghanistan over to the Taliban, why did he not order immediate withdrawal of ALL forces from both places on Jan 21 2009??? He would certainaly have avoided a lot of US military casualties that way..
