Boomers. Worst generation, ever.

Sorry, but you cannot lump an entire population - which in fact represents the majority of Americans still alive - in that way. The BOOMERS gave us Reagan.

The Gen-X, -Y-, and Zers gave us Obama.

I think the worst generation ever was the generation which left the farms, jettisoned the Edwardians and became the Progressives (John Dewey). They are the WW1 generation.

It is always the generation or two BEFORE a cultural catastrophe that is the root cause of the problem.

A generation never springs up originally, it is a priori--coming from that which was before it.

In the case of the boomers, they came from the Woodrow Wilson, Truman, and FDR generation that threw off the Victorian and Edwardian elitism which once preserved virtue (despite its flaws). In other words the boomers sprang forth from the corrupt, perverted, murderous, and immoral fascists/progressives.

When that generation threw it all off (think: roaring 20s and the Flappers---sluttytypes---) the boomers were about to be born.

In New York Friday to appear on Sean Hannity’s program, I stayed an extra day to catch an early performance of David Mamet's new play The Anarchist, now in its second week of previews. Sitting next to Marcello, a Brazilian venture capitalist, we chatted about the election just past.

"I do not understand you Americans. Dogs on car roofs? Really?"

I can't argue that our process isn't absurd or that our media isn't mired in the trivial. The day before I had interviewed Israel's Ambassador to the United States, historian Michael Oren, and had passed a pro-Israel demonstration in...
