Latinos are ignorant of the issues - or they would vote otherwise.

You are correct. It is not the immigration issue that makes Latinos vote for Democrats, it is the government goodies that they receive. Still, they are largely ignorant of the issues. Those that are aware that Democrats are "Communism Light" tend to vote Republican. The Latino media and most of the leaders are left as well. Republicans should concentrate on how to effectively deliver their message to Latinos...and for that matter to all Americans.

We need to establish new policies and reform existing ones that recognize the family as the basic unit of society. The Civil War was about State Rights with slavery a useful rallying point after Gettysburg. The rise and expansion of government can be traced from that point on - greatly accelerating with the Great Depression. We need to reestablish State Rights by abolishing Federal agencies that infringe on them, such as in the Education Department.

The Civil War was in essence about State rights. We need to start there. The idea is sound, but I would also stress that we need to come up with free market alternatives to defeat government run programs and entitlements. For example the Chicago School of Economics has suggested privatizing Social Security. It was implemented in Chile giving people an option between private SS funds and government run SS funds. It works with most people choosing private SS funds. Another point is we need to privatize parts of the government such as Amtrak and return certain departments back to the states, such as education. Conservatives have plenty of other great ideas too. We need to talk about them, constantly.

The conservative Latinos are those that are here illegally. The voting Latino are the big city beneficiaries of the Democratic Party. So, if you want a conservative Latino...let the illegal vote! Miguel White, male, Latino
