Conservative Republicans are more open to the John Birch Society today than they were in William Buckley's time. Read the comments here if you have any doubts.
There are different kinds of experts. I would place more faith, for example, in experts in the sciences than experts in government policy. If my doctor tells me I have cancer and sets out a plan of medical treatment, I would trust his advice over that of non-doctors who lacked the medical expertise. On the issue of global warming I trust the opinions of scientists who specialize in this area over political activists with little training or research but a heavy ax to grind. As for the American Cancer Society, what motive would it have in denying a link between breast cancer and abortion if in fact there was such a link?

Obama was pretty funny, maybe he has good writers. Conan was funny at times but seemed uncomfortable and spent most of his time looking down while he read his jokes
Seems like conservatives complain of the nanny state while supporting laws that ban smoking marijuana.
If New nYorkers should be free to drink Big Gulps, why can't others smoke pot?
He interviewed just a few people. Yes there are potheads just as there are alcoholics, but seems to me both can be used in moderation (I use neither).
Guy: "On the night of their huge shootout with police, the terrorists car-jacked a vehicle at gunpoint. It had a "Coexist" bumper sticker on it. Really." So you are suggesting people of different religions should not coexist?
I see this article was never updated, even though Starnes acknowledged elsewhere that in fact the SBC site was temporarily blocked because of malware at its site and not because of its religious views. The SBC itself had warned against jumping to premature conclusions. But in his eagerness to prove persecution of Christians, from the US Army of all places, Starnes rushed forward anyway. It will be interesting to see if Starnes updates this article and apologizes to the U,S, Army for his error.
