Very true. We should live our personal lives and project a national image that reflect our values. Unfortunately, our "leaders"--public servants?-- have their own agenda that in no way reflects the majority opinion in the U.S. Sad but true. Look at all the results of Margaret Sanger's efforts re: abortion, the wast/fraud/abuse in our political/economic environments... we don't reflect that "Shining city on a hill" so much.

Secretary of State John Kerry chose an interesting place to deliver his first foreign policy address. The former Massachusetts senator spoke at the University of Virginia. He was introduced by the university’s president, Teresa Sullivan. Dr. Sullivan noted that the university’s founder, Thomas Jefferson, had served as the first Secretary of State.
