I wonder if I'm being "spoofed" here. Surely the writer is first and foremost aware that the Second Amendment does not "give" anyone a right. A cursory review of our Founder's documents will easily show that such rights are " Endowed by our Creator". That means, ma'am, that the amendment merely affirms that right, recognizes that it exists in every human geing, whether he/she meets your fantasy football IQ test or not; whether he is an opera singer or a hog butcher. As has been mentioned, no battery of test exists that would show who will or won't go bonkers. Each of us is capable in one way or another, be it by guns or fertilizer mixed with diesel fuel--see OK City-- people do bad things. Do to our 24/7 news cycle, we hear about it .

In fact, this should be the number-one requirement of gun ownership: Can someone applying for ownership of a deadly weapon withstand an hour-long debate against someone in favor of gun control without resorting to physical or verbal assault?

Is it too much to ask that every person wanting to possess a firearm be subject to a battery of tests -- everything from...
