I haven't read all of the comments, thus this may be redundat, but at least one police officer has proclaimed that he "can't wait to get the order to come kick in your door". So much for that oath the the Constitution...
Never going to happen. Lee fits the current agenda; Nugent does not.
I would respectfully disagree. The ATF has been mis-using and abusing their role much, much longer; another recent example was Waco, TX. And that is recently. Check with the NRA about how the IRS has lied, manipulated, comitted perjury, etc. over the past couple of generations.
It's my understanding that D.C. has also prosecuted and "pled down" folks who got fired .22 brass stuck in the treads of their shoes at the range, thus "transporting" it into D.C. from Virginia. Rather than fight the felonies, those folks take the plea, pay $1,000 shake-down fine, and go on with their lives. Incredible.
I'm good with that. Add Mark Kirk to the list; since his stroke, he acts as if he's Dickie Durbin's sock puppet. BTW, I'm from IL.
I keep coming back to the same thing: Regardless of the rationalizations, considerations, delays and deferrments, it's still all about control. It's NOT healthcare, nor insurance, nor fairness, but control. Whatever the excuse du jour, it always comes back to that.
This is what happens when there are zero-tolerance mindsets combined with an over-zealous prosecutor. That, and it wouldn't surprise me if the "ex" has friends in low places.
I disagree, somewhat. I believe that Obama cares for the opportunity to demonstrate his power, his control over the huddled masses that is built into the ACA. It's never been about healthcare or insurance; it's about control.
From my experience, the schools- especially of the liberal arts variety-, are not competing for the "best"; they are competing for the suburban moms and dads who want little Johnny or Jane to get the heck out of their basement and are able to spend or go into debt the $60k/year to do so. The school one of my kids goes to took 20 years to work their average ACT acceptance minimum by 0.2 points; it trashed that requirement and dropped it by 10 points in two years to fill up useless classes with future Occupy basement-dwellers and website trolls.
This brings to mind the idea of Mike Rowe, of "Dirty Jobs" fame; he's pushing more and more for traditional work programs, jobs that don't require a higher-education degree and the debt that goes with it one. A chat with Rubio and Rowe would be interesting.
