They were thinking about the future of our country I'd imagine. It's called "Enlightened self-interest" where you put the good of society as a whole above the thrill you get slowly petting your Glock in the dark privacy of your basement...

Yeah, you're probably right.... they thought to themselves, "As much as I love my guns and my freedom, I'll willingly give it all up and vote for the greater good of government control over my life." Makes perfect sense to me.
