Who Are You Calling Stupid?

Jonathan Goober's arrogance is exceeded only by his lies. One can tolerate a certain amount of arrogance, but outright lies are never acceptable. Goober thinks it's okay to lie for what he perceives as the greater good -- he really believes that. He made the rounds of liberal cable outlets yesterday saying he was sorry about his comments. That's another lie. He's not sorry about what he said; he's only sorry that he got caught. BTW, I intentionally spelled his name "Goober" because that's what he is -- a freakin Goober.

Mona, the toilet has already been flushed. It's only a matter of time until we're all sucked down the sewer.

Very interesting. There was a time, even in my lifetime, in rural parts of the country that children were born at home. If the attending doctor / midwife neglected to report a birth to officialdom, no birth certificate was issued. Along those same lines I remember a man in my youth who had been self-employed his entire life; he was a well driller. He never obtained a social security card and never paid federal income tax. Nowadays your child is assigned a social security number a nanosecond after birth.

Holder Will Leave a Legacy of Abuse

What infuriates me is that Holder will walk away unscathed, when an ordinary citizen would be in jail for the laws he has broken. At a minimum it's a mystery to me why his license to practice law hasn't been revoked.
What troubles me more than anything is that it took six years for people to figure Obama out..... "Oh, he's inept? Duh, ya think? The next time I here the shopworn mantra that the USA is a center-right country, I'm gonna puke. A center right country doesn't elect a left-wing socialist for president TWICE!
Her father, Senator Sam Nunn, was one of the last true Conservative Democrats from the South, an honorable man who placed the country ahead of partisan politics. Too bad it didn't rub off on her.

The Truth About Violence in Chicago

There was a time when the African-American crime rate was essentially the same as that of whites. That all began to change with LBJ's Great Society. A father figure is absent in 70% of African-American homes as a direct result of liberal policies of throwing money at unwed mothers. Ya gotta have a dad in the house to guide and teach young men right from wrong!! It's really that simple.
Great story, Doug. Any more details? I mean, why did the soldier need the seat in the first place... was coach filled up? Or did Amy swap her 1st class seat for his coach seat and sit with the unwashed just to give him a better travel experience?

WWI and the Second Fall of Man

RE: "That punishing peace did not produce a peaceful heart among the Germans, many of which mistakenly believed they had won the war and surrendered only to agree to acceptable conditions of peace." How is the "winner" of a war defined? One definition of winning is the ability to keep your adversary out of your country. France failed miserably at that. Maybe the Germans didn't win the war, but from a purely military standpoint, they didn't lose. They invaded France and were never driven back to their own country. They held vast streches of the French countryside during the entire conflict, whereas the Allies never set foot on German soil. They lost only on paper by virtue of the treaty forced upon them.
You forgot this year's record-cold winter, caused by Bush, which is responsible for the sluggish economy.
