In the Scottish town of Dunblane March 1996, 16 school children and a teacher were massacred by a madman with a hand gun, in event that parallels Sand Hook. Politicians in response promised the British a safer society with the forced confiscation of hand guns. Today gun violence is up 40% with criminals free to acquire guns through the black market. English Bobbies are for the first time armed with citizens left defenseless. Now the Brits are warning US, Don't let them take our guns!

Between 1998 and 2009, gun crime in the UK increased 89%. The UK has a higher overall violent crime rate than the United States and even South Africa - widely considered one of the world's most dangerous countries. Perhaps this is why history is being glossed over in today's schools.

As Leah already reported, yesterday Vice President Joe Biden held a Google+ hangout so he could answer direct questions about new gun control measures being pushed by the administration. On top of saying shotguns are better to use if you want to hit someone, Biden also said the administration's new push isn't gun control but "gun safety." Biden also argued that because assault weapons aren't used often to kill people, they should be banned.

"It is true that the vast majority of gun deaths in America are not a consequence of the use of an assault...
