I'm no gold bug, and I actually think it over valued by a LOT, but it seems to be the best item for backing money. After thousands of years of experimentation, and failure, seems gold almost always comes out as the winner for currency backing. Everyone has their reasons as to why but regardless of your stance history shows it to be number one. Fiat currencies tend to be the WORST and that is what we are currently experimenting with all across the world. I'm sure THIS time things will end well! > . <

Strangulation by Union

Wow you have a lot of ignorance in this comment so I will just address just a couple. 1) Waitresses can make FAR more then minimum wage via tips (most of which is tax free cause they don't report it when they are cash tips). I have friends who payed their way through college waiting at Olive Garden and even stayed there for a year after getting out cause it payed so well. Besides if they weren't doing well they'd be working at McDonalds for minimum wage. 2) for hundreds of years people have been pouring into this country, and yes this was even the case BEFORE unions, and they didn't come to make LESS money! : )

Depending on Dependency

I second AlDavis2011's comment: Illuminiati your ignorance is abundant! Even your fellow left wing whack jobs accept based on the evidence. A Simple google search will show the claim that conservatives give more then liberals proves to be true (Example: http://blog.beliefnet.com/castingstones/2008/04/conservatives-give-more-to-cha.html) As for your second statement please take time to actually READ the article. The claim made by Thomas was NOT that the dependent had a high voter turn out. It was that when they DO turn out they tend tp vote for those who give them stuff . "Death to the Federal Reserve and fractional reserve banking!"
I'm no fan of the Reid but I don't see grounds for calling him a liar. A lie would be to say something that you know not to be true. From my understanding all Reid said was that an unnamed person, who supposedly worked at Romney's old fund, told him that he had not payed taxes for the last x number of years. Romney's reply was enlightening. He did NOT say that it was a lie, or even untrue, but that Reid should put up his source. Now I don't care if Romney payed taxes or not, he's still getting my vote, I just don't think it correct to call Reid a lier. A duffus yes but not a lier... at least not yet. : )
