"Aura", I fear that you are not keeping up with the facts as they come out. NBC and ABC have both been shown to have edited the 911 tape, making Zimmerman, who is Hispanic, not white, sound racist. The unedited tape shows a different sort of man. As for Conservative showing our "true racist colors," i perceive that you are too young to remember, but I am not. The Civil Rights Bills were opposed, even filibustered by "Liberal" Senators, like Fulbright, Long, Russel, Ervin, Stennis, and, yes, Johnson, and many others, until they were overcome by Republicans, led by Senator Everett Dirksen , of Ilinois. This is easily proven or disproven by consulting the Congressional Record, or the newspapers of the day.

Jim Crow laws were passed by Democrat-controlled state legislatures. The 1964 Civil Rights Act was passed because Conservative Republicans, led by Sen. Everett Dirksen, (R) Illinois, broke the Southern Democrats' filibuster. I saw it on the news, when it happened. It's nice to be young and know everything, but the rest of us must recognize when what someone "knows" is just plain wrong.

You demonstrate an astonishing ignorance of prechristian China, Rome, Canaan, Greece, et al.

Most cultures in the world have a negative view of homosexuality. A few do not, e.g. Canaanite culture, which also had a number of other rather nasty practices, infant sacrifice, to name but one.

I remember numerous Christian Conservatives who acted very courageously to end segregation. For that matter, the King family are very devout Christians and most of them to one degree or another, Conservatives. Those of us who remember actual segregation, know, first hand, that your statement is balderdash.
No, they do not.
You'd lose that bet. Catholic hospitals do not do tubal ligations. They tell you that in new-employee orientations, Day 1.
Pope John XXXIII did not die in the early sixties, and, if he was assassinated, it would have had to be a rush job before he could die of old age. His papers show him to be opposed to both abortion and to contraception. While Church teaching might possibly change on contraception, it is very unlikely to change on abortion. Modern biology, even neonatology has continued to push back the gestational age of humanity, so, while philosophers disagree about the first trimester, from the fourth month on, we see a small human baby. Further, how did we jump from "Keep your government out of my womb!" to, "Pay for my abortions!"
