Other concerns: - The doctor and nursing shortage filled with mediocre talent such shortages attract (called lowering standards). The people now signing up for vocational medical technician courses advertised on TV will probably be your primary care physician. - The incentive for highly intelligent people to choose medicine as a career versus a government administrator or attorney. - The tsunami of medical care required and demanded by baby boomers met with excuses and blame stories by politicians. - The utter resentment of the under 25 crowd at being told they need to pay for all these old people. - Euthanasia becoming "hip". Especially watch for hair-splitting semantic morphing meanings of the word "voluntary" => "duty to die".
