Hollywood's Gay Marriage Thank You Card

I watched about 3 episodes of "Will and Grace" and loved it, but then they started airing more and more gay jokes & gay content in each episode and it turned me off. What's irking me now is gay content being included in TV shows and other forms of entertainment for no reason. Does throwing gay characters into a comic book or a primetime soap really attract more viewers than it offends? I've had 3 comic book series toss in gay characters, two series with gay kissing, and were it not for the fact that these are darn good comics, I'd be tempted to toss them out -- probably would have had all this appeared in Vol. 1 and not Vol. 14. And I know the gay content in a couple TV shows sealed the deal on my dropping them. Just not what I want to see.
