What is up with Republican comments? Cry me a river. The civilian side of the DOD is ridiculously bloated. There are people in procurement writing policy on what pens and pencils to buy. In addition after a 20% cut the civilian DOD pay and benefits are only about 20% higher than their counterparts in the private sector.

We have known this for years. What is somewhat different now is the MSM is actively aiding the government. The MSM did similar things for the Clinton's. Obama is worse because he is so far left and the economy is so bad. The democrat party contempt for ordinary americans has probably risen to new highs. However, the great society was very bad as well.

John, when discussing wrong headed regulation and IPO's the biggest issue is Sarbanes Oxley by far...not Glass steagall. The GM bankruptcy in which Obama stiffed the secured creditors did not help. Our government stole the assets of private citizens through the GM bankruptcy b4 Cyprus. Dodd Frank is hurting badly as well. The smaller banks can compete with larger banks because the smaller banks can offer personal service and middle market services. However, the bank regulators have made lending very difficult. The Obama administration and the Fed are stealing the assets of individuals today by printing money and keeping interest rates artificially low.

John, he said he would reduce federal employment by attrition. He is going to block grant education funds to the states. If you do that you can cut a tird and get more money to the schools. Two trillion over 10 years for the military will save us a lot of lives and keep us out of future wars.

Hey John. When you consolidate 47 jobs programs and return them to the states you reduce overhead dramatically. About one third of the spend is federal, overhead that goes away. Same for Medicaid block grant it to the states cuts one third of the cost and puts more money on the ground. Anyway I did not care for the revenue neutral comments either. Same with dept of education. None of the dollars spent in DC go to educating kids. Send it to the states.

Media Bias and the 47 Percent

Linda, media bias is the only reason Obama is not 10 or 20 points behind. And yes you have it right, my whole lifetime, we have know/believed a large portion of our people would vote democrat no matter what because of government benefits. This is as FDR and LBJ intended...Buy votes and power for the democrat party with our money.
You are a pollster and just figured this out. This has been news for months.
The polls are plus 6 to plus 10 democrat...most of them. Rasmussen is plus 2 democrat. The electorate actually self identifies as plus 2 republican according to rasmussen. Romney leads by 5 or 6 in my opinion. Another key Obama got 52% of catholic vote in 2008. His approval among catholics is 27%. That by itself should to take care of Obama.
Rasmussen says Romney leads in the swing states including Florida.
They promised to repeal Obamacare which is a huge spending cut. If they win the senate there will not be anyone to make a deal with. If they do not win the senate nothing will happen. Hopefully they shut down the government. Romney can spend at the level of the Ryan budget and defund ObamaCare.
