Social Security is Broke

Why doesn't Congress liquidate their sweetheart retirement plan and join the rest of us with Social security, IRAs and 401ks? Because those plans suck and they want their own deal. So they voted that for themselves. Just like their health insurance and other perks. Aren't they a special group?
What is good enough for us is never good enough for them. TERM LIMITS might get their attention when they actually had to earn a living some day.
Every year some genious notes that Soc. Security, Medicare, etc are broke. And every year nothing gets done. The idea that private accounts will solve the problem id ridiculous. If 80% put in under $6000/year. Even if they could put 1/2 into a private account, in forty years they would only have...
Of course they are broke. And that is because politicians like Michelle have been afraid to address this issue for years. It isn't news that these programs are under funded. But ask Michelle what options there are other than raising the tax or reducing the benefits. She will oppose either solution. Why? Because she wants to get re-elected not solve problems. The rant about tort reform costing so much is another typical political diatribe. Where are any facts about this? How about some facts about a Doctor's malpractice insurance? And maybe the AMA should weed out the incompetent Doctor's instead of protecting them.
Politicians hate facts. We need TERM LIMITS now!

Silencing its Critics...Again

Cutting costs for the bloated and abused Medicare/Medicaid should be objectives for everyone including Michelle. To simply imply that reducing costs are equivalent to reducing services is typical political pandering. Why does Michelle always try to reinforce her ideas with fear? Can't she see anything positive?
These programs are going to be insanely expensive as my generation continues to age. And everything is free. New hips, new hearts, new lungs, fat people, smokers, everyone gets free treatment. Who will pay for all that? And for how long? Should we all live whether healthy or sick for as long as we can? I don't think so.
