If Repubs focused on a few issues that were good for the country but that our super wealthy don't like, they could probably do far better. Among those issues: Immigration restriction (this would get far more votes than it would lose). Instead the Repubs are talking amnesty in what is sure to be a futile chase for Hispanic votes. Just ask Sen Amnesy McCain. Also, affirmative action. Reducing this would attract far more whites than it would alienate. And Repubs always get accused of racism anyway. And minorities rarely vote Repub no matter what the Repubs do. But our elite is afraid to rock the boat on this one too. And free trade. We should be confronting China over its endless currency manipulation. But our elite like cheap goods.

Last year, when a Republican candidate should have waltzed to victory, Mitt Romney got his teeth knocked in by a man who could fairly be called the single least competent American President in history. This beating had very real consequences.
