When an institution loses money on a default, whether it's a bank, a store, or some other type of business, WHAT QUANTITY of goods must they move to make up for their loss? Hence, the losses do cause the meltdown. While banks may not have been forced to make loans as you rightly post, they also faced discrimination claims for not making many of the same loans.

What real frustration is, is when 59 self righteous induhviduals hold up the will of the millions of people in the U.S.

The USPS has run like a business for years, except ALL revenue in excess of expenses, i.e. profits from the sale of its products has been seized by the govt. and spent on only God knows what. Had it been allowed to keep the excess revenue "for a rainy day" it would not be in the predicament it is in now. Oh, and if Congress hadn't voted to force the USPS to prefund its retirement account, unlike any other govt. agency, the "bailout" wouldn't be required. Seems the idiots in Congress are the source of the problem.

While gay people are wasting energy fighting this battle, Muslims are also fighting against the same people gays are fighting. And if the Muslims win, gays will lose.

The problem with the USPS, govt. pirates! Any excess funds the USPS has had over the years has been stolen by the govt. to spend on who knows what. Then the govt. mandated billions from the USPS for prefunding the retirement plan. Expect the pirates to do the same to healthcare!!!!
