Winds shifting on gay marriage

Growing up in the south, I heard the same litany of horrors that would befall our country if mixed race marriage became the law of the land. Marriage would forever be changed for everyone, it's against the Bible, it's unnatural, only a hand full of liberals want it. The basis for all of the rhetoric then, like now, is bigotry and ignorance. Same sex marriage does NOTHING to others, it merely allows two consenting adults to get married. The fact is, same sex couples have been getting married in Massachusetts for a number of year now with no major disasters or lightening strikes on the state.

The fact is the "winds" are shifting on same sex marriage but not in the way the author of this article seems to think. Intelligent...

nametabs, hate to break it to you be same sex couples have children either biologically or by adoption so they are raising the next generation too. Please explain why the children of same sex couples should not have married parents? Why would anyone want to discriminate against children?

Robert, obviously you missed the the era of civil rights laws. There was NO popular as is demanded for same sex marriage. If there had been a vote of the people, segregation would have won hands down and everyone knows it. So explain why THIS civil right should come for a vote when segregation wasn't allowed one?

When do we get to vote on everyone's civil rights. I don't recall a vote to end segregation. I guess some group get special treatment is they yell loud enough.
Frank, obviously you don't belong to a real Christian church or you would know that we do not condemn homosexuals or homosexuality. Homosexuality is no more "unhealthy" than heterosexuality. To say otherwise is based on ignorance and lack of education. I hope you will consider coming back to Christianity and following the true message of Christ before it is too late for you.
Snooper, your comments are based on lack of education and ignorance. I suggest you read a book and quit making comments that clearly show you don't know what you're talking about.
The judge did the right thing. When you commit to a relationship and have children this is a possible outcome regardless of the orientation of the parents when you want to dissolve the relationship. Typically disingenuous of the right wing nuts to make an issue of this one case as opposed to the millions from heterosexual marriages. If you want to solve the problem, make divorce illegal when you have children. I'll be that would win at the ballot box.
