I don't think for a minute that most people pay attention. But, even if you only watched the MSM nightly news, you'd realize that Europe is crumbling and the main cause is out-of-control spending by the governments of Greece, Spain, Italy Portugal, etc. It's now really hilarious that Germany, once again, holds the fate of much of the European continent in its hands. I hope that Angela Merkel stands her ground and DEMANDS that Greece, Spain, etc. bow to mandatory austerity measures. It is the ONLY way to cure the ills that plague these "taker" nations.

The conventional wisdom has emerged that in order to avoid the so-called "fiscal cliff," politicians in Washington must agree to some method of tax increases ("revenue") -- which will be real, even if low taxes are not the cause of our ills -- alongside some kind of promise of spending restraint on entitlement programs, which is our problem, and which no one believes Washington will restrain.
